Today, Wednesday, July 1, the Minister of National Economy and Finance and President of the Eurogroup, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, is traveling to Brussels, where he will hold his first official meeting with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. During the meeting, issues of common interest will be discussed, with emphasis on the further strengthening of cooperation between the Eurogroup and the European Parliament.
On Thursday, July 2, Mr. Pierrakakis will deliver a keynote speech at the European Commission’s annual conference on the European budget, entitled “Boost Europe: Leveraging the EU Budget for Strategic Priorities”. In his intervention, he will elaborate on his positions regarding the strengthening of the international role of the euro and the strategic importance of the European budget in financing common European priorities.
Afterwards, the minister will travel to France, where on July 2 and 3 he will participate in the Aix-en-Provence Economic Meetings (Les Rencontres Économiques d’Aix-en-Provence), organized by the Cercle des économistes. This is one of Europe’s most important economic forums, which brings together every year leading representatives of politics, the economy, business, and the academic community. This year’s event is dedicated to the theme “Navigate a World of Uncertainty”.
