The Hilton brand will be carried by the new hotel that Dimand is developing at FIX, in Thessaloniki, following the 25-year management agreement signed by the real estate development company with the American chain.
“Today is an important day for the city. This is a symbolic agreement for Thessaloniki, as it marks the debut of Hilton Thessaloniki. It is a very important development for the city’s international footprint. This agreement will change not only the quality but also the flow of tourism in the city,” said during the presentation of the project the CEO of Dimand, Dimitris Andriopoulos (photo).
The new hotel, with a total capacity of 184 rooms and suites, will be developed in two buildings, one of which will be constructed from the ground up and one in a preserved building.
For his part, Alan Mantin, Vice President Development Southern Europe, Hilton, stressed: “We are excited to be in Thessaloniki, it is not a simple journey to find the right partner and the right project. It is an emotional day because a new journey begins and we are happy to be part of Thessaloniki.”
It is recalled that the investment amounts to 196 million euros and based on the timetable the new hotel will premiere in 3 to 4 years.
“We are interested in the city, it is a multicultural city. Here, with this agreement, two worlds meet, that of Hilton and that of Thessaloniki, and Dimand brought us together. These months were months of discussions, not negotiations. It is not just an agreement, but a day that marks the rebirth of the FIX site. We want to bring to this place not only visitors, but also the people of Thessaloniki as well as visitors. With this development we declare our confidence in Thessaloniki, we believe in it. We want to acquire a strong presence in northern Greece,” said Andreas Koukas, Senior Director Development Greece & Cyprus, Hilton.
