At the international exhibition and conference “The Smarter E Europe”, the most important event in Europe for the energy and energy equipment sector, Enterprise Greece participated. The event took place from 23 to 25 June in Munich.
The exhibition, which is held every year, brings together leading speakers and exhibitors from all over the world and includes four specialized sectoral exhibitions:
Intersolar Europe – solar energy and photovoltaic systems
ees Europe – energy storage
Power2Drive Europe – electromobility and charging infrastructure
EM Power Europe – distribution and use of energy from RES
This year’s event brought together 2,650 exhibitors from 52 countries and nearly 105,000 visitors from 163 countries, confirming its international character. Among the main conclusions of the conference, it was highlighted that, in an environment of increasing geopolitical instability, RES constitute a strategic solution by offering economic resilience, energy security and autonomy. At the same time, it was emphasized that the new energy systems will not be based on a few large power generation units, but on thousands of interconnected RES systems, designed with flexibility, decentralized operation and a high degree of digitalization.
Enterprise Greece was represented by the Director of Investment Attraction, Nikos Stamou, who held 18 business meetings with European companies that are either already active or are exploring the Greek market for the development of new RES energy production and/or storage projects. On the sidelines of the exhibition, Nikos Stamou also participated with an intervention in the special event “Hydrogen Dialogue” of Hydrogen Centre Bavaria, on 24/6, focusing on hydrogen technologies and applications.
Also participating in the exhibition were 12 Greek companies with a strong export and international profile, active in a wide range of energy products and services: construction of support bases for photovoltaic panels, flexible organic photovoltaics, electrical equipment, specialized software and specialized energy studies.
Regarding Enterprise Greece’s presence at the international exhibition, the company’s CEO, Marinos Giannopoulos, stated: «Enterprise Greece’s participation for yet another year in Smarter E Europe is part of the strategy to promote Greece as a leading international investment destination for production and storage projects of energy from RES.
Leveraging the high solar potential, the geostrategic position and the highly specialized human capital, our country -having already installed more than 10 GW of photovoltaics- continues at a rapid pace on the path toward the green transition, integrating new RES units into the electricity system and investing in energy storage.
Enterprise Greece, through a comprehensive outreach action program, supports both Greek companies in the sector and foreign investors interested in developing RES projects in Greece».
