An increase in salaried employment in the private sector was recorded in May 2026, as the balance of hires-departures is positive by 132,730 jobs, as follows from the results of the “ERGANI” Information System.
Specifically, according to the salaried employment flow data for May 2026, hiring announcements amounted to 368,429, while departures stood at 235,699. Of the 235,699 total departures, 96,616 resulted from voluntary departures and 139,083 from terminations of open-ended contracts or expirations of fixed-term contracts.
Also, for the period January-May 2026, hiring announcements amounted to 1,361,618 jobs and departures reached 1,028,775, of which 612,212 were the result of terminations of open-ended contracts or expirations of fixed-term contracts and 416,563 voluntary departures.
Thus, as announced, the balance of salaried employment flows for the first five months of 2026 is positive and stands at 332,843 new jobs, constituting the highest first-five-month performance of any year from 2001 to date.
