With a one-minute silence in memory of Vagia Nestora, the regular monthly meeting of New Democracy party officials in Heraklion began, convened by the Heraklion MP and former minister, Lefteris Avgenakis.
Referring to the tragic murder of Vagia Nestora, Lefteris Avgenakis expressed his deep sorrow and called on everyone to stand united against every form of violence and terrorism. He stressed that Democracy is not intimidated and New Democracy is neither terrorized nor bent by such criminal acts. At the same time, he underlined his absolute confidence in the institutions and in Justice, expressing certainty that those responsible will be identified and held accountable for their actions.
The meeting took place in the context of the established monthly working meetings that Lefteris Avgenakis holds with the party officials of the prefecture, with the aim of better coordinationand the preparation of the party ahead of the pre-election period.
During the meeting, political developments were discussed, the progress of the major development projects being implemented in Crete, as well as the party’s priorities for the coming period, with emphasis on a constant presence alongside citizens, open dialogue with society, and strengthening the relationship of trust with citizens.
Participating in the meeting were the members of the D.E.E.P. of Heraklion, the Municipal Local Organizations (DIM.T.O.) of the prefecture, officials participating in the ballots of the three Chambers of Heraklion, as well as officials of the Medical and Agricultural Association of Heraklion.
