On average, nearly half of the measures and actions included in the government’s “Greece 2.0” Recovery and Resilience Fund program “Greece 2.0” were implemented, with the data indicating that a major opportunity for growth through this program—which is now coming to an end—was missed.
The data were presented at a press conference held by PASOK spokesperson Kostas Tsoukalas, parliamentary spokesperson and head of the Finance and Recovery Fund Sector, Pavlos Geroulanos, and the head of the party’s Economic Affairs Division, Giorgos Paleodimos.
“Never before has the country received such a large sum of money as was provided for in the Recovery Fund,” Mr. Geroulanos stated emphatically, in order to highlight the magnitude of the problem resulting from the failure to meet the targets.
As illustrative examples of initial targets that were removed from the program, they cited:
Measure 16898 – Water supply projects.
Measure 16909 – Infrastructure / Establishment of a national disaster risk management strategy.
Measure 16283 – Implementation of regional civil protection operations centers (PEKEPP) through PPPs.
Measure 16834 – Deployment of 5G networks providing coverage of all Greek highways.
Measure 16962 – Submarine fiber-optic cables.
Measure 16945 – Establishment of childcare facilities within large companies.
Measure 16621 – Internationalization of Greece’s research and innovation ecosystem.
Measure 16954 – Initiatives to upgrade and restructure the Greek railway network’s system and infrastructure.
Measure 16950 – Electronic tolls, and many others.

Measure 16996 – Installation of energy storage facilities to further the penetration of renewable energy sources.
