The Ministry of National Economy and Finance has taken note of the contents of the US Department of the Treasury’s announcement on actions taken as part of ‘Economic Outcast’ to combat sanctions evasion and illicit financial activities linked to Iran.
In a statement, it said Greek authorities are working closely with the relevant US authorities and other partners, and welcome any action aimed at safeguarding the integrity of the international financial system.
Greece implements the sanctions in force and supports efforts to effectively combat money laundering and terrorist financing.
In this context, all available information is being assessed and appropriate measures are being taken in accordance with established procedures and applicable national, EU and international law.
