Essay competition: Is it possible for women to bring their authentic selves to work?

Can women really bring their authentic selves to work, or must they disguise themselves to succeed?

If you think you have a compelling answer, send us an opinion piece and enter the FT's third annual scholarship competition, sponsored by Henley Business School and the 30% Club. The winner will receive a fully-funded spot on one of three possible part or full time Henley Business School MBA courses starting in October 2015.

On top of an 800-word opinion piece answering the question above, participants need to send us a 40-second smart phone video clip based on the following scenario: You are stuck in a lift with the head of your organisation and he asks: "What can I do to help you succeed here?"

Finally, participants should send in five tweets. Imagine yourself as a mentor and in up to 140 characters for each tweet give us your top five tips to young women entering the workforce in September.

Up to 10 finalists will be shortlisted from all the entries we receive before the deadline of 18 May, 2015. A panel of judges will choose the winner, who will be notified by the end of July 2015.

All finalists will be invited to the prize giving in September at the London headquarters of the Financial Times, where the winner will be announced. Entries of the winner and finalists may be published by the Financial Times online, in print and on social media.
