Sterling-priced gold rises to 2-month high

LONDON, Aug 31 (Reuters) - Gold priced in pounds sterling rose more than 1 percent to a two-month high at 810.49 pounds an ounce on Tuesday as the British currency slid on the back of rising risk aversion and spot gold prices climbed.

Sterling-denominated gold <XAUGBP=R> was bid at 808.48 pounds an ounce at 1354 GMT, against 799.31 pounds late on Monday. Spot gold <XAU=> earlier hit its highest since late June after lacklustre U.S. data. [GOL/] [FRX/]
